We have since our inception supported the waste and recycling sector by lending our support to a number of events, awards and projects providing an opportunity to celebrate the successes of our industry and our local authority partners.
Over the years, REPIC has and continues to lend its support to:

LARAC Conference & celebration awards
The only dedicated awards for waste and recycling officers. LARAC, the leading voice for local authorities on recycling, waste and resource management, holds its annual awards celebration to recognise innovative new approaches to dealing with all aspects of waste and recycling.
We sponsor the award for Best Waste Minimisation and Prevention Project, to the overall winner that has successfully demonstrated an innovative project to prevent or effectively deal with waste within their region.

LARAC Scholars Programme
Since 2015, REPIC has funded 18 more junior members of local authority teams, who would not otherwise be funded to attend, to take part in the annual two-day LARAC conference. As part of the scholar programme, REPIC provides the opportunity to learn more about WEEE recycling, with an invite to attend a further event to share best practice with each other after the conference.
Previously, LARAC scholars and the alumni have been on tours of WEEE treatment facilities, including being the first to view the UK’s first compressor facilities at Environcom in Grantham. This has included taking part in round table discussions to share best practice with Lets Recycle acting as event facilitators.

WEEE Conference
As event sponsor alongside Recolight and the GAP Group, REPIC supports the organisers with being able to deliver a specific one day programme of discussions from the world of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Every year, over 100 different actors involved in the world of waste electrical recycling come together to debate, learn and share experiences to tackle the current sector challenges.

Awards for excellence – category sponsor
The Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management allows for a unique opportunity to gain industry recognition for your achievements and promote the efforts of your colleagues and clients in recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
We sponsor the award for Household Waste and Recycling Centre or Civic Amenity (CA) Site of the Year. The overall award goes to the site that has successfully and effectively measured improvements in day-to-day operations. The winner needs to demonstrate how the sites have been used to increase recycling and composting and provide an enhanced service to users.

LGC Awards
The LGC Awards provide a platform to celebrate excellence in local government.
We sponsor the Environmental Services award for the council or partnerships of councils that has delivered proven excellence in any aspect of a council’s work in environmental services – including sustainability, energy, recycling, refuse collection and street cleaning.
