REPIC has wrapped up 2023 by allocating £2,000 to local worthy causes nominated by their staff based at the company’s head office on Waterfold Business Park, Bury, Greater Manchester.
The team at REPIC took the opportunity to nominate charities close to their hearts, and together have chosen five local causes. This brings the total donation to an impressive £15,000 as part of REPIC’s celebration to mark 15 years of the UK WEEE Regulations.
The final donations have all been made to the local good causes before Christmas.
The 15 year anniversary celebration started with a nationwide WEEE cycle event organised by REPIC in June 2023. During the WEEE Cycle, REPIC brought together many partners, including treatment facilities, reuse organisations and local authorities who took part in a 15 day cycling extravaganza, marking the waste electricals sector’s achievements and highlighting the importance of electrical recycling in the UK. As a fitting legacy, REPIC pledged to work with its supporters to donate £15,000 to local charities and good causes associated with the event route.
Several local good causes received the surprise donations before Christmas and REPIC will be visiting some of the worthy recipients in the new year to see first-hand the invaluable contributions they each make to their local communities.
Louise Grantham, Chief Executive at REPIC, commented:
“Reaching 15 years of WEEE success is a remarkable milestone for the sector and being able to make the final donations is testament to the collective impact we can achieve when working together for a greater purpose. The success of the WEEE Cycle event would not have been possible without the enthusiasm, dedication, and community spirit that defines REPIC.
“Being able to support our own local good causes is special. As it reflects the commitment of the whole REPIC team to making a positive impact. As the heart of our operations, REPIC HQ is based right here in Bury, we couldn’t be prouder to have celebrated this milestone alongside our dedicated staff and the local community.”
