Our Story

Born out of a shared vision by members of three trade associations in the electrical and electronics industry the formation of REPIC, was a remarkable stride forward in addressing the new legislation.

REPIC, an acronym for The Recycling Electrical Producers Industry Consortium, was founded in 2004 by EEE producers, in response to the requirements of the original WEEE Directive.

REPIC assists a growing membership in meeting their legal producer responsibility obligations with cost-effective, market-leading compliance solutions for the responsible recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Portable Batteries and Packaging in the UK and Europe and supporting them in their journey towards delivering circular business models and net zero.

REPIC’s board of directors include producer representatives giving the producer community a real say in what we do and how we do it.

Set up by producers, for producers. Putting your needs first

Operational as a producer compliance scheme since 2007, REPIC continues to be trusted by many of the UK’s leading household names to deliver cost effective compliance solutions. REPIC transcends compliance, delivering an array of value added services to support members in their journey towards transition to a circular business model and net zero.

Not for profit producer compliance

REPIC operates on a cost recovery basis ensuring that all scheme members are treated equally, whether large or small, and therefore only pay the true cost of compliance. As a not for profit organisation, our purpose is always to support members.

Leading and shaping producer responsibility

We’re proud to be the UK’s leading household Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) producer compliance scheme, delivering excellence in compliance today while playing a key part in shaping the circular economy of tomorrow.

Excellent service. Excellent advice. Excellent value.

Our dedicated producer focus enables our scheme members to contribute towards future policy development and supports them as they pursue their journey towards a circular economy and net zero.
